Commercial insurance can protect you in almost any unforeseen circumstance imaginable – and probably even some that you’ve never considered. What if your business operations are interrupted due to a natural disaster in your area? What if your goods are stolen or your store or warehouse is vandalized? What if someone trips and falls on your company’s steps and sues you? What if … well, you get the idea. Insurance for businesses (and this includes online businesses that have little or no physical presence in the outside world) consists of many different forms. We’ll talk briefly about some of these coverage types.
One of the major forms of business insurance is general liability insurance. This typically means an all-inclusive policy that covers everything from product defects to business day-to-day operations to company vehicles to independent contractor work done on your premises. Under general protection, you can even get coverage for physical injury or property damage on your premises.CNA is an extremely large insurance company that serves both individuals and businesses. So you can get insurance with CNA whether your business is a small new start-up with you as the sole proprietor, or a huge business with hundreds of employees. CNA has been around since 1897, so it must have been doing something right all these years!
Commercial umbrella coverage can range from a few thousands of dollars up to $50 million or perhaps even more. If you would like to add on a few optional bells and whistles:
- Mechanical coverage – If your machines break down, you can be protected against any such problems.
- Glass coverage – You can protect internal glass as well as external windows.
- Audit investigation – If you must be audited, this protection will pay for your accountant’s fees.
